Request a free service from a technician for yourself, family or a friend.
Please do not submit a request for a free estimate on the home page.
You can request a service here, most services that are accepted are issues that pose a safety risk, health risk or pose a hazard. Occasionally we may accept other requests for betterment of the community. Service requests can be resubmitted once every three months for the same issue, you may request multiple services at once, and submit as many service requests as you need in any time frame. Please only submit a request if all other financial resources are exhausted, or if family or friends are unable to help. We can also work with other charities that provide resources but need help with labor. Most of our technicians and handymen donate their valuable time away from their duties as fathers, mothers, and professions to help the people we serve.
Qualifications: The recipient must be a senior citizen or disabled veteran, we may open requests to others at a later time, check back soon. The recipient must declare that they are unable to receive financial assistance from other sources, or that these other sources would take an amount of time that poses a risk to safety or health, we do not ask for, request, or require personal financial information. If an organization like the VA is requesting an estimate from a contractor before they will approve your project, please use the normal request for free estimate on the home page, and inform the associate.
Request to Service Time: As a new and growing organization we are dialing in our response time. We are working to provide, but do not currently do not offer emergency repairs or after hour repairs. As more business owners and local volunteers join our team we hope to reduce the time to service. Our current request to acceptance time is 2 weeks, and from request to service is 2-4 weeks.
Types of Service: The types of services accepted are general home improvement and small projects that pose a risk. There is not a defined set of services, but here are some examples of accepted requests; installing handrails & grab rails in bathroom and shower, installing grips on stair treads, installing a wheel chair ramp, replacing switches, outlets, upgrading to GFCI in kitchens and bathrooms, replacing smoke detectors, c/o detectors, light bulbs, broken windows & doors, HVAC inspections and filter changes, water filter installations, and repairing plumbing leaks, clogs etc. Some services we currently are not accepting include non essential home improvements like painting, remodels and renovations, flooring that doesn't pose a risk, and appearance upgrades.
How Does it Work? After you submit a request a team member will reach out with further instructions on the application process. Once approved, an on site visit will be conducted to estimate the costs and time involved in the project, a work order will be created, and you will be placed on the schedule for service. When your appointment for service arrives a technician will arrive onsite to facilitate the service.
Are there any costs? Can a Friend or Family Member Chip in? This depends on the service and what funds are available at the time. We will do everything we can to provide free service, materials included. A family member or friend can absolutely chip in to provide financial assistance, however can not be facilitated or mediated through us, they can chip in directly by purchasing materials, if they have the ability they can donate directly to us, however the funds will be placed in the general pool to support our mission.
